100 Statistics that Prove Systemic Racism is a Thing

The amount of denial being displayed on the role of systemic racism in this country has been nothing short of baffling to me. But I have to I remind myself that not everyone is a Black woman social scientist who has been steeped in these issues her entire career. Not everyone holds a Rolodex of disparity statistics in their brain, ready at the quick.

Therefore, I am adding some evidence to the discussion. If after digesting these statistics, you still cannot acknowledge that “systemic racism is a thing”, I don’t know what to tell you. The counter argument would be that there is something inherently good about white people that has positioned them atop of the racial hierarchy in just about every domain of life, and something inherently dysfunctional about Black, brown, native and indigenous people which reliably and religiously sifts us to the bottom. And that, my friends is the text book definition of racism.

That said, here are 100 statistics that not only prove that “systemic racism is a thing” but beckon us ALL to do what is necessary to end it.
